 Menu
The ingredients and ways of cooking Sanuki udon vary according to the season, district, and restaurant. Whether served hot or cold, Sanuki udon dishes can be served in a wide variety that differs according to the cooking method and ingredients. Here, we introduce a typical Sanuki udon menu separated into five categories according to the type of preparation−dip in sauce, add to broth, uses no sauce, stew, and other ways of serving.

Bukkake Udon
Bukkake Udon To make this simple dish, place udon in a bowl with spice, and add broth as desired. The dished can be served either hot or cold.
 
Kayaku Udon
This is a popular hot dish of udon in broth topped with Kamaboko(fish paste) and other toppings. This essential mixed dish is popular in every season. Kayaku Udon
 
Kitsune Udon
Kitsune Udon Another favorite, choice this dish combines udon with aburage salted and sweetened deep-fried tofu. It is commonly served with such as fish paste kamaboko.
 
Tsukimi Udon
This popular dish is topped with a raw egg. A typical hot udon dish which gives a perfect combination of hot udon mixed in egg. Tsukimi Udon
 
Gomoku Udon
Gomoku Udon This (crowd-pleasing) dish combines five kinds of toppings, typically shiitake, chicken, aburage deep-fried tofu, bamboo shoots and kamaboko. This highly nutritious dish can be enjoyed with a number of different toppings.
 
Shippoku Udon
Since the old times, this traditional dish has been served in Sanuki during New Years and Autumn festivals. Topped with plentiful cooked and seasoned taro, carrot, daikon radish, shiitake, aburage deep-fried tofu and other ingredients, this popular dish makes for a substantial cool-weather meal. Niku Udon
Niku Udon Topped with soy sauce and sweetened beef, this typical udon dish gives a rich variety of flavors. The flavors of noodles and ingredients gives an interesting combination of rich meat and light broth. Some restaurants use Sanuki beef as part of the ingredients.
 
Sansai Udon
This common menu item includes wild plants such as bracken and osmund fern. This udon dish is popular among health-conscious women and elderly people. Sansai Udon
 
Tempura Udon
Tempura Udon This is a popular udon dish with lightly deep-fried shrimp tempura. Regardless of the season, this udon is highly popular and is available in a number of variations, including vegetable tempura udon.
